The 2026 model year is shaping up to be a monumental period for Japanese automakers, bringing a wave of legendary nameplate revivals, compact off-roaders, and next-generation electric and hybrid powertrains.



Toyota




  • Land Cruiser FJ: Toyota officially launched this highly anticipated compact off-roader in May 2026. Slotting below the 250 series, it packs the iconic rugged DNA into an agile, easy-to-handle frame built for versatile outdoor lifestyles.

  • GR86 Yuzu Special Edition: Revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon, this limited-run sports coupe features a custom bright color scheme, upgraded Brembo brakes, and Sachs dampers.

  • Hilux EV & "Reverse-Import" US Models: Toyota is expanding its electrified workhorse lineup globally with the Hilux EV. Concurrently, they are meeting domestic premium demand by reverse-importing larger U.S.-built vehicles like the Highlander.
